Senior Producer

DepartmentProduction

We’re looking for an ambitious Senior Producer to join Inertia - someone who loves exceptional creative work, understands the business behind it, and wants to play a meaningful role in pushing an independent studio into its next phase of growth.

Working with some of the world's most ambitious brands, you'll lead high-end CGI, motion and design projects from the very first client conversation through to final delivery.

This is more than a project management role.

You'll build client relationships, develop new opportunities, help us win work, shape scopes and budgets and assemble the teams needed to make ambitious ideas happen.

You'll sit at the intersection of clients, creativity and commercial thinking - working closely with our Founder, Creative Directors and artists to protect the ambition of the work while making sure projects are properly structured, profitable and brilliantly delivered.

Senior Producer

We're looking for someone who sees production as more than schedules and status reports.

You'll be trusted to own projects and client relationships from the outset - responding to enquiries, interrogating briefs, leading conversations, developing proposals and helping turn opportunities into projects.

Once they're through the door, you'll take responsibility for making them happen.

You'll build scopes, estimates and schedules; understand the right team and production approach; manage clients and internal teams; anticipate problems; control scope and project finances; and maintain momentum from kick-off through to final delivery.

As a senior member of a growing independent studio, you'll also have the opportunity to influence how we work, the relationships we develop and where Inertia goes next.

Commercial & Financial

  • Build and manage project budgets, scopes, estimates and production schedules.
  • Understand how creative decisions affect scope, resource, margin and profitability.
  • Negotiate budgets and commercial terms confidently with clients and agency partners.
  • Work with leadership to ensure projects are structured intelligently and commercially sustainable.
  • Track project financial performance throughout production, identifying risks before they become problems.
  • Understand utilisation, resourcing, freelance costs and project profitability.
  • Support forecasting and provide leadership with clear visibility across the production pipeline.
  • Balance creative ambition with commercial responsibility — protecting both the work and the business.

Production

  • Lead complex CGI and motion projects from brief through to final delivery.
  • Understand modern CGI and 3D production pipelines, including design, R&D, look development, asset creation, animation, simulation, rendering and compositing.
  • Translate creative ambition into realistic scopes, schedules and production plans.
  • Build the right internal and external teams around each project.
  • Manage multiple projects and opportunities simultaneously without losing sight of the detail.
  • Anticipate production challenges and solve problems before they impact the work, client or schedule.
  • Manage changes in scope clearly and commercially.
  • Work closely with artists, designers, Creative Directors and external specialists throughout production.

We’re Looking for Someone Who

  • Has significant experience producing high-end CGI, motion design, VFX, design or creative technology projects.
  • Has operated at Senior Producer, Executive Producer or equivalent level within a respected studio, agency or production company.
  • Is commercially confident and genuinely understands the business behind creative production.
  • Is comfortable discussing a £20k opportunity one day and helping structure a £250k+ production the next.
  • Can look at a brief and quickly understand the likely team, timeline, production approach and budget required to deliver it properly.
  • Understands project margins and isn't afraid of spreadsheets, forecasting or difficult budget conversations.
  • Knows how CGI and motion projects actually get made — and understands the implications of creative decisions on production.
  • Is excellent with clients and capable of building relationships that extend beyond individual projects.
  • Has the confidence and instinct to turn conversations into opportunities.
  • Can recognise when there is more business to be won and knows how to pursue it without becoming overly sales-driven.
  • Is calm, organised and decisive when productions become complicated.
  • Communicates clearly and directly with both creative and commercial teams.
  • Has excellent judgement and knows when something needs escalating and when they can simply solve it.
  • Takes ownership rather than waiting to be told what needs doing.

Growing Inertia

This role goes beyond delivering projects.

As a senior member of the studio, you’ll help us think about where the next project comes from, which relationships we should be developing and how we turn great work into further opportunities.

You’ll help identify opportunities across existing clients, develop new relationships and contribute to the continued growth of Inertia.

We’re not looking for a traditional salesperson. We’re looking for an experienced creative producer who understands that building relationships, winning work and delivering it exceptionally are all part of the same job.
